Overview

Chess Wizards is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Area Director to oversee instructor coordination, training, and program quality initiatives in the Chicago area.

In Short

• Recruit, hire, and train new chess instructors.
• Schedule and coordinate instructor assignments.
• Conduct classroom visits for training and evaluation.
• Step in as a visiting or substitute instructor when needed.
• Build strong relationships with schools and partners.
• Address client concerns and troubleshoot issues.
• Lead coaching calls and performance check-ins.
• Work in a hybrid model with both remote and on-site responsibilities.
• Must have a reliable home office setup.
• Travel within a 30-mile radius of Chicago.

Requirements

• 1+ year in a leadership role within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of chess principles.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Able to adapt to changing needs and resolve challenges.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Availability for morning and occasional evening work.
• Must meet all state requirements for educational workers.
