This role is an opportunity for a hands-on, but literally hands-off, technologist with a passion for Linux to build a career with Canonical and drive the success with those leveraging Ubuntu and open source products.

In Short

  • Drive operations automation in private and public clouds.
  • Utilize open source infrastructure as code software.
  • Provide critical feedback to developers on product performance.
  • Collaborate with a global team of SREs.
  • Maintain operational responsibility for Canonical’s core services.
  • Develop skills in troubleshooting and performance investigation.
  • Share best practices with team members.
  • Work on larger projects and automation of manual tasks.
  • Be responsible for time-critical escalations.

Requirements

  • Experience in operations defined in code using CI/CD.
  • Strong engineering background in Agile environments.
  • Python software development experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux networking and firewalls.
  • Experience with cloud computing concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across various systems.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Passion for open-source technologies.
