• Leading a distributed team of software engineers in the delivery of Linux kernels for Ubuntu.
• Working with partners to implement optimized Linux kernels.
• Ensuring Ubuntu Linux runs on diverse hardware platforms.
• Defining and executing quality control standards for the Ubuntu community.
• Mitigating security threats to the Linux kernel.
• Driving process automation for kernel build, test, and delivery.
• Engaging with teams and the open source community.

Requirements

• Significant programming experience in C; Python and Golang are highly regarded.
• Experience with operating system kernel internals, preferably Linux.
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading software engineering teams.
• Ability to coordinate between multiple teams with different technical focuses.
• Familiarity with version control practices, ideally with git.
• Experience with software packaging formats, especially Ubuntu/Debian/Snap.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally for company events.
