Staff/Senior Accountant - Remote

Overview

BenchPrep is looking for a hardworking, ambitious Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing operations. This position will report to the Controller and play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, analyzing data, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In Short

• Manage accounting functions including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze and review company expenditures and confirm proper allocation of expenses.
• Ensure accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end schedules for annual tax returns.
• Look for ways to improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate financial information effectively.
• Proactively contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
• Support audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3-5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5-8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing.
• Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation and revenue recognition.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Intacct, Quickbooks) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Self-starter with the ability to multitask.
