Overview

The Design Engineer is responsible for providing presales support and acting as a technical consultant to the sales team, generating system designs and documentation for customer proposals.

In Short

• Translate customer requirements into functional system designs.
• Review pre-construction design and documentation.
• Assist with technical design and estimating hours for projects.
• Generate functional system descriptions and block diagrams.
• Identify cabling and material needs.
• Assist Account Manager with labor and material estimates.
• Develop engineering and architectural drawings.
• Provide ongoing engineering support.
• Meet with vendors for product evaluation.

Requirements

• Proven business writing skills.
• Proficient with test and calibration equipment.
• Understanding of IP networking.
• Ability to diagnose complex system problems.
• Advanced computer skills for AV equipment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
