Principal - Medicaid Actuary - Remote

Overview

As a Principal at Athena, you’ll be setting strategic direction, nurturing key client relationships, and guiding complex engagements from opportunity through delivery.

In Short

• Lead and manage client accounts—ranging from small analyses to large consulting engagements
• Serve as day-to-day client leadership contact and strategic advisor on client engagements
• Guide actuarial modeling, analysis, and review processes
• Demonstrate listening, writing and speaking skills for diverse audiences
• Mentor and manage junior staff
• Partner with leadership to build and grow health areas of practice
• Assist with new business development and sales leads
• Support and promote Athena’s mission and values
• Participate in strategy meetings

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience
• ASA or FSA certification
• Expertise in Actuarial Modeling, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
• Experience with Medicaid
• Clear communication tailored to audiences
• Curiosity and courage to challenge the status quo
• Experience in Client and/or Project management
• Experience in health actuarial projects
• Successful experience in a consulting environment
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
