Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - Transmission & Substation - Remote

Overview

Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead high-impact transmission and substation engineering projects, strengthen key client relationships, and provide technical and operational leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

In Short

• Lead civil and structural engineering design across multiple energy and utility market sectors.
• Direct detailed design for transmission and substation projects, including foundations, structural steel, concrete, and metal building systems.
• Build, maintain, and expand client relationships with utilities, independent power producers, municipal entities, and renewable developers.
• Manage project teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, adherence to schedules, and alignment with project budgets.
• Prepare and respond to RFPs and change-order requests, supporting technical scoping and estimating activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain multi-state licensure is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of cumulative structural/civil engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in foundations, structural steel, concrete, and metal building systems.
• Deep knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE, and ASTM requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and communicate effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
