Lineman 5th Class - Non-union - Remote

Overview

A line worker installs and fixes overhead distribution and transmission systems, which include poles, cables, and electrical systems. Line Workers also fit, repair, and maintain underground cables and electrical equipment.

In Short

• Setting of poles and anchors, stringing overhead wire.
• Installing transformers, lightning arresters, cutouts, and other electrical components.
• Performing maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Troubleshooting issues with primary and secondary systems.
• Replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Daily testing and inspection of tools and equipment.
• Reporting safety concerns to Foreperson.
• Other duties related to the installation of overhead power supply.
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Ability to problem solve in various circumstances.
• Experience with high voltage systems.
• Able to climb structures and possess necessary tools.
• Must identify, operate, and service required tools and equipment.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in electrical power line construction.
• Proof of work experience and certifications required.
