Environmental Engineer - Sustainability - Remote

Overview

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Engineer - Sustainability to join our team for a significant rail tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. In this role, you will lead and support efforts to integrate environmental, social, and economic sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

In Short

• Lead the collection of design- and construction-phase data to track sustainability performance.
• Develop and manage comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
• Refine sustainability specifications for low-carbon materials and waste management.
• Collaborate with the design team for Envision credits and compliance.
• Attend weekly construction management meetings and conduct site visits.
• Partner with construction contractors to integrate sustainability requirements.
• Review construction submittals for compliance with sustainability requirements.
• Manage all Envision-related reporting and documentation.
• Support environmental justice and workforce development programs.
• Collaborate with external partners to ensure alignment on sustainability goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainability-focused roles.
