Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Sr. Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer will define operating characteristics and design high-performance flowpaths, airfoils, and inlet/outlet geometries for a supercritical CO₂-based power cycle, enhancing turbomachinery efficiency through CFD modeling and experimental validation.

• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and structural engineers to integrate aerodynamic designs.
• Support the development of test plans, instrumentation strategies, and data validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
• 6+ years of experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics or aerodynamic design.
• Proficiency in CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or similar).
• Strong understanding of compressible flow, boundary layers, and fluid-structure interactions.
• Experience designing airfoils, flowpaths, and gas path geometries for turbines or compressors.
