Senior Manager Project Controls (Quantity Surveying) - Remote

Overview

The Senior Manager Project Controls will be responsible for managing, forecasting, and tracking costs, schedules, estimates, and risks on a portfolio of capital projects at Amgen Corporate Headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, California.

In Short

• Accountable for managing project controls from funding through close out.
• Developing strategies and negotiating pricing for subcontractor scopes of work.
• Preparing monthly cost reports and project status reports for senior management.
• Leading risk analysis reviews for cost estimates and schedules.
• Overseeing the closeout of contracts and purchase orders.
• Exhibiting proactive safety leadership and behavior.
• Communicating project matters to Site Sponsors and Engineering leadership.
• Supporting Engineering Digital Transformation activities.
• Managing a team of cost managers and schedulers.
• Collaborating with various internal business partners.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent qualifications.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering or construction in the life sciences industry.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational and task management skills.
• Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience in Earned Value Management.
• Knowledge of cost and scheduling software packages.
• Understanding of procurement methods and contracts.
• Ability to lead teams and build strong relationships.
• Experience with BIM workflows and integration.
