Overview

Join AIR as a Software Project Manager to support the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) project. The Software Project Manager (SPM) will use technology to help solve humanitarian issues across the globe, working with colleagues in North America, Africa, and Europe. The Software Project Manager will work alongside other ambitious, innovative thinkers at the forefront of developing new methods and technologies for humanitarian and international development decision making. As a key member of the team, this role will ensure the seamless provision of data capture, analytics, and visualization products and services.

In Short

  • Manage software development teams and processes.
  • Run an Agile software development process using aligned Sprints.
  • Track key deliverables to ensure timely execution.
  • Mentor teams in Agile approaches and best practices.
  • Monitor compliance and implement performance metrics.
  • Ensure continuous client satisfaction with the product.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms and identify emerging use-cases.
  • Manage help and software documentation processes.
  • Oversee help desk and user documentation services.
  • Work on other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s with at least 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing complex software development projects.
  • Proven expertise in Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to exercise sound technical judgment.
  • Expert knowledge of Scrum/Agile processes and Jira.
  • Effective communication skills for virtual collaboration.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
