Finance Manager - Canada - Remote

Overview

This is an opportunity to join a Fintech startup at an exciting time and become a core influencer in the company as we launch our Canadian Broker-Dealer.

In Short

• Oversee the preparation and filing of the monthly MFR and support internal reporting.
• Conduct analysis on financial metrics including client receivables and P&L.
• Lead the preparation of IFRS financial statements for reporting.
• Manage GST/HST/QST filings and intercompany accruals.
• Ensure compliance with CIRO rules on margin and client positions.
• Manage daily reconciliations and ensure exceptions are resolved.
• Prepare and review the weekly RAC report and lead the Form 1 audit process.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian securities regulations.
• Provide oversight of liquidity risk management.
• Collaborate with operations to manage fails and settlements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Familiarity with CIRO reporting requirements.
• 5-7 years of relevant finance experience in a financial institution.
• Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to adapt to changing business and regulatory environments.
• Team-oriented with a desire to support team members.
• Enjoys challenges and ownership of responsibilities.
• Nice to have: Investment Representative registration.
