Outage Manager - Remote

Overview

The Outage Manager is responsible for preparation, planning, leading execution, and close out of complex planned/emergent Outage events for steam turbine and generator outages while supporting the development of the business strategy for field fulfilment excellence in GE Steam Power.

In Short

• Lead complex outages for assigned territory or locations.
• Manage outage event preparation and execution from start to finish.
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met.
• Support project quotation development and risk analysis.
• Drive improvement of on-time delivery and productivity.
• Respond promptly to forced outages/emergency situations.
• Support technical communication with customers during outages.
• Work with web systems applications for planning and forecasting.
• Lead large teams during outages and manage on-job cost tracking.
• Ability to travel 30%+ of the time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in the power generation industry.
• 3+ years of specialized experience in outage planning and execution.
• Proficiency in English required.
• Strong project management and planning skills.
• Advanced Excel and MS Project skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of gas/steam turbines and generators.
• Demonstrated communication and influencing skills.
• Experience performing TEAMS or STEP inspections.
