Overview

AECOM is seeking a talented Rail/Track Engineer to perform civil design on freight and transit projects, providing guidance for public projects on freight railways and coordinating with various stakeholders.

In Short

  • Lead technical client relationships related to track design and construction.
  • Perform civil design for freight and transit projects.
  • Prepare design documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments on project scopes.
  • Conduct field track inspections and develop testing requirements.
  • Manage project schedules and deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for railway and transit design projects.
  • Review and approve track designs prepared by others.
  • Travel for site and coordination meetings as needed.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering with six years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
  • 10 years’ experience on rail and transit projects preferred.
  • Expertise with Bentley OpenRail and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of FRA, DOT, and local railroad criteria.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead meetings and coordinate with clients.
  • ROW safety training and ability to meet FRA criteria.
