Lead Substation Structural Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Lead Substation Structural Engineer will support AECOM's Energy Practice’s Grid Modernization Initiative by providing technical leadership in the design of substations and electrical infrastructure projects.

In Short

• Work remotely or from various Energy offices across the US.
• Lead structural engineering for substations and switchyards.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to a team.
• Perform engineering calculations for structural design.
• Coordinate with project teams on schedules and budgets.
• Contribute to business development strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and specifications.
• Occasional travel to client sites required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8 years of experience in transmission and substation projects.
• Professional engineering licensure preferred.
• Experience with industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software.
• Experience in 3D modeling environments.
• Knowledge of voltage levels in electrical systems.
• Experience with EPC projects.
• Ability to work with remote teams.
• Owner’s Engineering experience is a plus.
