Overview

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Planner for the Greater Pennsylvania area to work out of either our Philadelphia or Conshohocken office. This position will support our Planning team within our Transportation business line, providing environmental support for transportation projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond.

In Short

  • Support planning studies and reports.
  • Prepare NEPA documents, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and possibly Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Conduct field evaluations and assessments, such as wetland delineations and resource assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports and waterway permit packages.
  • Engage in public involvement activities, including preparation of meeting materials and responding to comments.
  • Perform general technical writing tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field plus two years of experience in planning and environmental permitting.
  • Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with NEPA environmental documents and wetland delineations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of ArcGIS.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Client-focused, self-motivated team player.
