Overview

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Transmission and Distribution group within the Energy practice Engineering Center of Excellence, offering the flexibility to work remotely or from various locations across the United States.

In Short

  • Support electrical engineering design work on assigned projects.
  • Conduct power system studies and create electrical schematics.
  • Perform calculations for grounding, cable, and transformer sizing.
  • Assist in the development of construction and equipment specifications.
  • Support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Occasional travel to client or project sites.
  • Work under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data.
  • Propose solutions to new problems encountered.
  • Ensure work aligns with budget and schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in transmission, distribution, and/or substation.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Exposure to California Electric Utilities is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Field experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with power systems analysis software (SKM, EasyPower, Etap).
  • Experience supporting renewable generation projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote teams.
