Deputy Design Manager I, Data Centers - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a motivated Deputy Design Manager to support colocation and hyperscale data center projects from site due diligence and campus planning through design, construction documents, and construction administration.

In Short

• Support the Design Manager in daily project coordination activities across disciplines.
• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, progressing toward independent ownership.
• Capture accurate technical notes during interdisciplinary meetings and coordinate with discipline leads.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings and track key decisions, risks, and action items.
• Proactively assist in tracking, managing, and communicating project changes.
• Coordinate internal and external design meetings using various platforms.
• Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and drawing revisions.
• Assist with specification edits and updates within internal reporting systems.
• Manage project files across SharePoint, MS Teams, Google Drive, and Box.
• Support Design and Project Managers in developing technical and financial proposals.

Requirements

• BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• 2+ years of experience working in A/E firms.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management preferred.
• 1 year in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management or engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication (written/oral) and organization skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations.
