Firewall Engineer (Hybrid - Alexandria, Virginia)- BT - Remote

Overview

The Firewall Engineer will support the Digital Modernization organization by ensuring firewall and load balancer security compliance through assessments and recommendations.

In Short

• Support the Firewall and Load Balancer Assurance Program (FAP).
• Utilize DOD STIGs, NIST, and DISA guidelines.
• Identify security gaps and optimize firewall configurations.
• Conduct monthly assessments and generate reports.
• Develop After Action Reports (AARs).
• Provide recommendations for firewall changes.
• Must have a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Requires 3+ years of firewall experience in a DOD environment.
• Certification in Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of firewall implementation.

Requirements

• BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum DoD Secret security clearance.
• 3+ years of firewall experience within the DOD environment.
• Certification satisfying DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 requirements.
• Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification required.
• Knowledge of perimeter and internal firewalls.
• Experience managing standard baseline configurations.
• Experience evaluating security rules.
