Virtual School Counselor - Remote

Overview

The Virtual Counselor supports overall student success by partnering with staff members and families to inform student specific academic programming, create and maintain graduation and career plans, and provide proactive and preventative services.

In Short

• Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups
• Engage students in academic and career planning assessments
• Respond to individual and group needs with responsive counseling
• Review transfer student transcripts and inform appropriate course placements
• Maintain and review transcripts for active students
• Create and maintain student graduation plans
• Provide career readiness curriculum
• Coordinate career fairs and special events
• Deliver Life Skills curriculum
• Analyze student data for academic programs

Requirements

• Valid Georgia School Counselor license
• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in counseling
• Experience with the ASCA model
• Experience with K-12 online learning
• Understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE)
• Experience with Local, State, and Federal laws
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
