Acute Patient Care Technician - PCT CCHT - Remote

Overview

The Acute Patient Care Technician functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients while adhering to FMCNA policies and regulations.

In Short

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and treatment parameters.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Participate in quality enhancement and performance improvement activities.
• Perform vascular access cannulation and monitor access for patency.
• Set up and prime equipment for dialysis therapies.
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Evaluate and report any unusual findings to the RN.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled on dialysis machines.
• Travel between assigned facilities and community locations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 - 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) required.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious materials.
• Competency in monitoring and evaluating patient responses to treatments.
• Willingness to travel between facilities.
• Commitment to quality patient care and safety standards.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and standing for prolonged periods.
