Perfusionist - Remote

Overview

The Perfusionist is responsible for conducting Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) independently, working closely with the surgical team to tailor perfusion to the needs of each patient.

In Short

• Responsible for conducting CPB during cardiac procedures.
• Works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.
• Ensures optimal performance of Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs).
• Provides extracorporeal shunting for selected patients.
• Manages blood clot removal systems for patients.
• Provides expertise for various research protocols.
• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Health Science.
• Must be a Certified Perfusionist.
• Post-training clinical experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, and lifting.

Requirements

• Clinical knowledge of CPB for adult cardiac surgeries.
• Familiarity with IABP, ECMO, and LVAD/RVAD management.
• Ability to assist patients of all ages.
• High degree of innovation and organizational skills.
• Post-training clinical experience of 2-3 years preferred.
