Student Disability Services Assistant - Remote

Overview

This position is responsible for assisting with processing student accommodation requests and other support needs within the Office of Accessibility Services at WGU, contributing to a mission of expanding access to higher education.

In Short

• Assist with processing student accommodation requests.
• Communicate with students and mentors via phone, chat, and email.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Schedule appointments between specialists and students.
• Achieve quality assurance standards for accuracy and customer service.
• Research assistive technologies and resources.
• Serve as a member of the ADA Committee.
• Inform students and staff of university programs and policies.
• Log and check incoming mail and voice mail.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of administrative support or customer service experience.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of ADA and related federal/state laws.
• Experience in a higher education clerical role preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of FERPA regulations.
