This fellowship program offers the opportunity to mobilize non-institutional and private finance for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in West Africa, focusing on innovative financing models and engagement with non-traditional donors.

In Short

  • Engage with non-traditional donors for WASH funding.
  • Conduct a mapping exercise of funding sources in Burkina Faso, Liberia, and Mali.
  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations for country teams.
  • Support the analysis of private financing ecosystems.
  • Participate in the production of strategic briefs and policy recommendations.
  • Work in a bilingual environment (French and English).
  • Duration of the fellowship is 6 months.
  • Based in one of WaterAid's country programs.
  • Contribute to the regional planning for WASH initiatives.
  • Drive change and influence partnerships for sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to engage with data.
  • Experience in resource mobilization or fundraising.
  • Understanding of the WASH sector and private financing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Capacity to produce concise and actionable reports.
  • Willingness to travel within the region if needed.
  • Experience in project management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the West African context is advantageous.
