Overview

The Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Project Engineer will work remotely and is responsible for reviewing project scopes, specifications, and coordinating project activities while providing customer service and technical support.

In Short

  • Remote position for candidates living beyond 50 miles from Dayton, OH or Cary, NC.
  • Requires 70% in-person travel across the United States.
  • Review drawings and documents to determine scope of work.
  • Specify equipment and select instruments for projects.
  • Perform PLC/HMI programming and configuration.
  • Coordinate project activities between site and office.
  • Provide phone support and field customer service.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Participate in meetings to negotiate project scope.
  • Complete I/O checkout and documentation for projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Competency with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with Modicon, GE, and Siemens PLCs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues with instrumentation.
  • Understanding of VFDs and industrial control protocols.
  • Experience with HMI software like Wonderware or iFix.
  • Good customer relations and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and remote control technologies.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.
