Service Owner - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Service Owner to lead a major registries modernization initiative. This is a 1-year remote contract in Canada. The role focuses on delivering user-centric, cloud-based digital services, leading agile product teams, modernizing legacy systems, and improving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong experience in requirements gathering, data analytics, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, and thrives in Agile/Scrum environments.

In Short

• Lead product teams through discovery, design, testing, and implementation of digital services.
• Redesign operational processes to enable new services.
• Develop recommendations for changes as digitization occurs.
• Identify barriers to change and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure quality assurance.

• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to identify and prioritize modernization opportunities.
• Focus on improving client and employee experiences.
• Support planning and roadmaps for sustainable digital services.
• Champion Agile practices and digital delivery approaches.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Owner or Product Owner in digital service delivery.
• Strong experience in Agile/Scrum frameworks (JIRA experience preferred).
• Expertise in data analytics, reporting, and gap analysis.
• Experience leading product teams and managing stakeholders effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to modernize or replace legacy systems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize requirements based on business value, risk, and feasibility.
• Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Understanding of complex policies, regulations, and standards as they relate to digital services.
