Overview

The Privacy Legal Intern will be an integral part of Upgrade's privacy legal team in San Francisco. This exciting 3-month summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical legal experience in the dynamic and critical field of data privacy and protection.

In Short

• Work with experienced attorneys on privacy contract processes.
• Enhance data-driven legal technology implementations.
• Assist in reviewing and drafting Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
• Contribute to internal processes related to privacy compliance.
• Maintain the contract repository using Ironclad and OneTrust.
• Provide project support for legal department initiatives.
• Learn about the regulatory environment surrounding data privacy.
• Participate in substantive meetings across the organization.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in law school at an accredited college.
• Strong interest in consumer data protection laws.
• Completion of relevant law coursework or IAPP certification is a plus.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Exceptional project management and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn about the fintech industry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
