Inpatient Coding Specialist (Coder III) - Remote

Overview

This position focuses on revenue cycle operations, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient health information while performing coding duties for inpatient admissions.

• Fully remote position requiring 40 hours per week.
• Responsible for accurate coding of inpatient medical records.
• Utilizes ICD-10 CM and PCS codes according to guidelines.
• Communicates with providers for documentation issues.
• Participates in audits and reviews denial reports.
• Provides training and assistance to lower-level staff.
• Maintains security and confidentiality of patient data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as CCS, CIC, RHIA, or RHIT required.
• Three years of ICD-10-CM and PCS coding experience.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Five years of inpatient coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Epic and CAC systems preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required.
