Overview

The Cybersecurity Externship Mentor will guide students through hands-on externship projects, providing technical expertise and professional development support while preparing them for their first roles in cybersecurity.

Requirements

• ~10 years of professional experience in cybersecurity.
• Strong ability to manage projects independently.
• Experience mentoring or training junior cybersecurity analysts.
• Hands-on expertise with cybersecurity tools like Splunk, Nmap, and Wireshark.
• Proficiency in incident response and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with U.S. cybersecurity standards.
• Working knowledge of Git/GitHub and project management platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Availability to work up to 30 hours per week.
