Overview

We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Curriculum Writer to design and develop instructional materials specifically for a high-impact tutoring program aimed at improving student outcomes on the New York State English Language Arts (ELA) Regents Exam.

In Short

Develop high-impact, scaffolded tutoring curriculum aligned with NYS Next Generation ELA Learning Standards.
Create modular, flexible lesson plans and activities for 1:1 and small-group tutoring.
Design practice assessments, reading selections, prompts, and model responses for the Regents exam.
Incorporate strategies for accelerating learning and closing skill gaps.
Align curriculum materials with trauma-informed and culturally responsive teaching practices.
Collaborate with tutors and academic coordinators for curriculum usability.
Iterate and revise materials based on feedback and student data.

Requirements

Strong background in secondary ELA instruction.
Deep understanding of the Regents exam.
Experience in curriculum development.
