Medical Payment Posting Specialist - Remote

Overview

SportsMed Physical Therapy is seeking a Payment Posting Specialist to join our team. The role involves processing payments from insurance companies and applying balances accurately, transitioning from on-site training to a hybrid-remote setup.

In Short

• Receive, sort and review payments from insurance carriers
• Post payments to appropriate accounts
• Identify denied claims and communicate with the billing team
• Ensure accurate application of payments and adjustments
• Identify secondary insurances for claims submission
• Validate posting results and reconcile payments
• Research un-applied amounts from EOB or ERA
• Identify under-payments and provide information to the billing team
• Maintain accurate records of payment batches
• Work independently with strong organizational skills

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical billing processes
• Ability to handle large volumes of ERA’s and EOB’s
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
