Substitute Teacher - Remote

Overview

Sora seeks candidates to serve as both short-term (on call) and long-term (contacted in advance for a planned, set period of time) substitute teachers, leading learning experiences in keeping with Sora’s mission and vision.

In Short

• Lead learning experiences aligned with Sora’s mission.
• Provide formative and summative feedback to students.
• Manage the virtual classroom environment.
• Participate in faculty meetings as requested.
• Experience in secondary or postsecondary education required.
• Desirable experience in Humanities or STEM subjects.
• Experience with virtual learning and tech tools preferred.
• Available to work across U.S. time zones.
• Paid training sessions provided for selected candidates.
• Must be located anywhere in the U.S.

Requirements

• Experience in secondary or postsecondary education.
• Humanities: Honors level experience in US History, World History, Philosophy, Economics, Government, or English Language Arts.
• STEM: Honors level experience in Algebra I through Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Environmental Science.
• Experience with coding or robotics is preferred.
• Passion for independent learning and familiarity with tech tools.
• Experience in a startup environment is a bonus.
