Founding Security Engineer - Remote

Overview

As Sift’s founding Security Engineer, you will define the security posture, architecture, and practices to keep our products and infrastructure secure in demanding environments.

In Short

• Define and maintain the security posture and architecture.
• Build secure CI/CD pipelines with embedded scanning.
• Operate and tune SIEM/EDR tools.
• Secure multi-cloud environments including AWS and Kubernetes.
• Implement zero-trust networking approaches.
• Partner with compliance firms for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other frameworks.
• Support third-party security assessments and audits.
• Provide company-wide security awareness training.
• Handle customer-facing security reviews.
• Lay the foundation for Sift’s security program.

Requirements

• 5+ years in cybersecurity or cloud security roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks.
• Deep understanding of security principles.
• Experience with security tooling.
• Ability to translate security requirements into actionable tasks.
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High ownership and adaptability in fast-moving environments.
• Integrity in handling sensitive data.
