Director of Cybersecurity - Remote

Overview

As a Director of Cybersecurity at Rise8, you will drive the cybersecurity posture and practice across delivery and client engagements, ensuring compliance and security for federal customers.

In Short

• Lead and own CMMC compliance and readiness.
• Drive cybersecurity governance and policy development.
• Provide technical leadership in cloud security and DevSecOps.
• Build and scale a high-trust Cyber Practice.
• Collaborate with IT and legal teams to ensure security obligations.
• Measure and report on cyber KPIs for leadership.
• Mentor and grow cybersecurity staff.
• Run incident response and continuous improvement exercises.
• Engage with federal customers on security strategy.
• Foster a culture of security and compliance within the organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years in cybersecurity roles, with 6+ years in leadership.
• Experience with CMMC and federal compliance programs.
• Strong background in cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on experience with ATO/cATO models.
• Ability to translate technical risk into executive recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.
• Active DoD clearance preferred.
