Structural Design Engineer III (PV Racking Systems) - Remote

Overview

Revamp Engineering is seeking an Engineer III with expertise in Structural Engineering & PV Racking Systems to serve as a specialist focused on photovoltaic racking technologies. This role focuses on the detailed design, evaluation, and integration of fixed-tilt and tracker racking systems across utility-scale solar and hybrid PV + BESS projects. This role applies advanced structural design knowledge to guide internal teams and clients on optimal racking foundation configurations, structural reliability, and cost-effective solutions. The engineer independently manages multiple projects, mentors junior staff, and collaborates closely with civil, electrical, and procurement teams to ensure robust, compliant, and constructible racking foundation solutions.

In Short

• Lead racking-system structural foundation analysis, including wind, seismic, and snow load evaluation.
• Design and verify steel pile foundations for various project sites.
• Review and qualify racking vendor calculations and drawings.
• Support the development of internal design standards for racking layout.
• Perform independent verification of third-party racking designs.
• Create structural engineering plans and calculations for renewable energy projects.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects and manage deadlines effectively.
• Serve as a primary structural point of contact for project teams.
• Mentor and support the technical development of staff engineers.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety standards and codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering with focus on PV racking systems.
• Ability to evaluate racking system foundations for structural integrity.
• Experience reading and interpreting geotechnical reports and drawings.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software such as RISA 3D.
• In-depth understanding of design codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Experience collaborating in a remote work environment.
