Financial Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analysis and projections for investment and due diligence, working closely with portfolio CFOs and other executive-level team members on investment efforts.

• Preparing financial models and performing analysis on pipeline companies.
• Analyzing current and past financial data and performance.
• Evaluating capital expenditures and depreciation schedules.
• Identifying trends and calculating ratios in financial performance.
• Coordinating primary and secondary research on markets.
• Conducting due diligence on investment opportunities.
• Presenting analysis to leadership and stakeholders.
• Building relationships with pipeline and portfolio companies.
• Working with a distributed investment team across Africa.
• Assisting portfolio companies with budgets and cash flow management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or equivalent; MBA or MF is a plus.
• CFA or recognized financial modeling credentials.
• 5+ years in a VC or private equity investment firm.
• Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent Excel skills, including charts and macros.
• Attention to detail with large data sets.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts in English.
