Consultant Psychiatrist – Community General Adult - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), delivering specialist care for adults aged 18-65 with complex mental health conditions. The service provides outpatient psychiatric care, crisis intervention, and rehabilitation across the Greater Manchester region.

In Short

• Provide comprehensive outpatient assessments.
• Review medication efficacy and psychotherapy options.
• Manage a caseload of patients with various mental health conditions.
• Offer consultation and clinical oversight to multidisciplinary team members.
• Develop risk management plans and support crisis intervention strategies.
• Supervise junior doctors and multidisciplinary staff.
• Engage in mental health law proceedings.
• Contribute to service innovation and clinical audits.
• Participate in teaching programs.

Requirements

• GMC registration with a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
• Experience in community-based psychiatric care.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work across multi-agency settings.
