Public Rights Project (PRP) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering local government officials in their fight for civil rights. Founded in 2017, PRP enhances the capacity of these officials to protect and advance civil rights through training, legal representation, and the establishment of a robust network of over 438 government offices across 44 states. The organization has successfully recovered over $46 million in relief for marginalized communities and has achieved significant court victories on issues such as abortion rights, immigration, labor rights, and voting access. PRP is committed to building equitable enforcement capacity within state and local governments, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and ensuring that the voices of those affected by civil rights violations are heard and represented.
