Overview

The Senior Claims Consultant is responsible for national medical malpractice claim services, including claims investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.

• Responsible for national medical malpractice claim services.
• Perform claims investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
• Coordinate work of defense attorneys and expert witnesses.
• Maintain claims-related relationships with physicians and organizations.
• Handle incident reporting, reserving, research, and evaluation.
• Present claim investigations at Claims Committee meetings.
• Plan and implement defense and litigation strategies.
• Analyze claims, defense counsel, settlements, and results.
• Facilitate relationships with defense counsel and other parties.
• Work in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• State adjuster licensure or ability to become licensed.
• Five plus years of professional medical liability claims experience.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong investigation, research, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of insurance policies and coverages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Technical ability to work with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
