Staff Engineer & Technical Lead – Ontology - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a staff-level engineer to lead the Ontology team as a hands-on technical lead.

In Short

• Lead the Ontology team and take technical leadership.
• Formalize enterprise schema and hydrate it from raw data.
• Collaborate with Raw Data, Context Mining, and App teams.
• Own the ontology, define entities and relationships.
• Design pipelines for identity resolution and data linking.
• Establish gold sources and standards for data.
• Productize research into continuous ontology pipelines.
• Co-design APIs and query surfaces for client UX.
• Drive technical standards for ontology jobs.
• 8+ years of experience in data-heavy systems required.

Requirements

• 8+ years building data-heavy systems with schema design and identity resolution.
• Proven technical lead impact and cross-team influence.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, experience with cloud data platforms.
• Data-quality and observability mindset in production pipelines.
• Experience with cloud data lakes like Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg.
