Overview

The Emergency Preparedness Community Coordinator will support statewide behavioral health emergency preparedness and response efforts in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority and community partners.

In Short

  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and deployment.
  • Organize a Psychological First Aid training program.
  • Support the development and execution of disaster behavioral health plans.
  • Work closely with Behavioral Health Division leadership.
  • Build readiness and foster community partnerships.
  • Ensure behavioral health systems remain operational during emergencies.
  • Maintain program documentation and performance data.
  • Comply with OHA protocols and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Facilitate cross-agency communication and community assessments.
  • Perform routine in-state travel for training and meetings.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in emergency preparedness or behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of FEMA/NIMS/ICS guidelines.
  • Strong program coordination and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse communities.
  • Experience with community project management.
  • Skills in volunteer coordination and relationship-building.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to health equity and inclusivity.
