Overview

As a Staff Editor, you will lead the editing and feature writing for Optimism’s latest brand, How Everything Works, ensuring the content is clear, accurate, and engaging.

• Lead editing and feature writing for How Everything Works.
• Work closely with in-house editorial team and freelance writers.
• Build and program a monthly editorial calendar.
• Ensure high standards of clarity and engagement in published pieces.
• Prep content for publication and manage it within the CMS.
• Collaborate with the Campaign team for email content organization.
• Use data to make strategic content decisions.
• Contribute ideas in brainstorming meetings.

Requirements

• 4+ years of editorial work for a digital media company.
• Working knowledge of the science space with a generalist’s mentality.
• Exceptional copy-editing and line-editing skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills for effective content management.
• Keen awareness of email as a content delivery mechanism.
• Familiarity with a CMS, preferably WordPress.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Extreme attention to detail.
