General Accountant (UK Clients) - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Accountant to support UK-based clients across various industries. The role will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations.

In Short

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure accounting records comply with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
• Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices.
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and assist with VAT returns.
• Work closely with UK-based finance teams and business owners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–7 years of accounting experience.
• Experience working with UK companies or UK accounting processes.
• Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT regulations.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
