Intermediate 3D Artist - Remote

Overview

ngx is looking for a talented intermediate-level 3D Artist to join our Animation Team! As a hybrid studio, some in-person presence at our Vancouver, BC location is preferred, but remote candidates located in Canada will also be considered. In Short

• Work closely with the Head of Animation and project leads to design, build, and animate 3D assets and environments.
• Take ownership of scenes from modeling and texturing through to lighting, rendering, and/or integration into Unreal.
• Collaborate across disciplines while guiding junior artists or freelancers.
• Strong technical craft and confident camera and asset animation skills.
• Creative with a strong understanding of composition, sequencing, and visual storytelling.
• Participate in client presentations at project milestones.
• Contribute skills and knowledge to a collaborative environment.
• Refine both creative and technical skills while contributing to immersive visual narratives.
• Comfortable troubleshooting issues and supporting juniors when needed.
• Engage in a mix of projects for the cultural and visitor experience sector.

Requirements

• Intermediate level experience with 3+ years in an animation or VFX studio.
• A portfolio that reflects your skills, range, and experience level.
• End-to-end experience through all phases of the 3D production pipeline.
• Proficient in Maya, Blender, or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Substance Painter and fluency with Unreal Engine.
• Solid lighting and rendering fundamentals.
• Highly organized, team-oriented, and solution-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Creative, imaginative, and willing to learn new things.
