Public Relations Associate - Remote

Overview

The vertical Public Relations/Communications team is responsible for building the Nerdwallet brand with our media partners and building our share of voice across financial categories. A Level 3 Public Relations associate will help support our current PR lead with execution of our strategy for the Consumer Credit organization (credit cards, travel, lending and insurance) focusing heavily on media relations, executing against our PR playbook and performance monitoring.

• Conduct thorough research and analysis of the competitive and media landscape.
• Leverage industry insights to execute media strategy and develop new PR ideas.
• Execute against the existing PR playbook and contribute to new media strategies.
• Generate unique pitch ideas and prepare media materials.
• Build strong media relationships and secure relevant coverage.
• Monitor and track media performance.
• Develop strong internal relationships with cross-functional partners.
• Support PR lead with various ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• 2-3 years experience in PR or communications.
• Experience in media relations.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and analytical thinker.
• Experience with Cision and TrendKite preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with SEO.
