Part-Time Accounting Associate at Tech Startup - Remote

In Short

• Collaborate closely with the Accounting Specialist and take responsibility for core operational accounting tasks across our markets in the DACH region, the UK, and the Netherlands.
• Ensure a clean data flow in our accounting tools (DATEV, Xero, etc.).
• Optimize our setups in the Expense Management Tool (Moss).
• Maintain and develop our internal accounting documentation.
• Act as a point of contact for our tax advisors, payroll providers, and other external and internal partners.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in accounting, e.g., through training in tax consulting or equivalent.
• Proficient in DATEV with broad HGB knowledge.
• Experience with tools like Moss, Stripe, GoCardless, Chargebee, or Xero is a plus.
• Experience in monthly reconciliations and understanding of clean preparatory accounting.
• Ability to identify discrepancies in the profit and loss statement and explain them plausibly.
• Ideally, experience in financial audits leading to annual closing & audit.
• Clear communication skills in German (native) and English (business fluent).
• Independent, structured, and reliable work style, comfortable in a dynamic startup environment.
• Startup experience is desirable.
