The Assignment Desk Editor at NBC News Channel will find, follow, and cover the news of the day, gathering stories and elements for dissemination to NBC News group and News Channel partners and clients.

• Work with NBC entities and News Channel clients to gather the day's news.
• Fulfill requests for all NBC Network platforms.
• Utilize editorial, social media, and desktop tools to gather and share stories.
• Respond quickly to breaking news.
• Communicate story developments with clients and internally.
• Represent NBC News Channel on network conference calls.
• Book transmission facilities and utilize various file sharing platforms.
• Clear user generated content for feeds.
• Follow and communicate Rights and Clearances restrictions.
• Work overnight hours and flexible schedules.

Requirements

• 2+ years of affiliate or network experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills.
