Part-Time AI Research Evaluator in Physics - Remote

Overview

Mercor is seeking PhD holders, doctoral candidates, and outstanding Master’s graduates in physics and related disciplines to join a high-impact AI research initiative in partnership with a leading artificial intelligence lab. This position focuses on evaluating and advancing large language models (LLMs) by applying deep expertise in theoretical and applied physics to assess model reasoning, accuracy, and depth across advanced physical science domains.

In Short

• Evaluate scientific correctness and conceptual rigor of LLM-generated responses.
• Review outputs involving mathematical modeling and theoretical frameworks.
• Identify factual errors and reasoning flaws in model outputs.
• Benchmark model performance on advanced physics problems.

Requirements

• PhD (or PhD candidate) in Physics or related field.
• Strong command of graduate-level physics and mathematical reasoning.
• Excellent written communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in Python for scientific analysis preferred.
