Overview

The Merch CAD Designer is responsible for creating innovative and original prints, patterns, and graphic designs for apparel and accessories, working in a hybrid schedule.

In Short

  • Create unique print, pattern, and graphic artwork for apparel and accessories.
  • Conduct research to identify and analyze market trends.
  • Collaborate with Design & Product Development for seasonal artwork needs.
  • Review pattern strike-offs and handlooms for approval.
  • Format artwork for production-ready Tech Packs.
  • Maintain in-house print/pattern library.
  • Establish and monitor the CAD process and calendar.
  • Oversee the textile and print design process from concept to final product.
  • Submit portfolio with application for consideration.
  • Work in a hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years experience in CAD design with emphasis in Textiles & Apparel preferred.
  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Strong management, communicative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the apparel retail industry.
  • Understanding of merchandising lines and customer behavior.
  • Office computer skills with preference for Microsoft applications.
